Travel the Air

Traveling with a constant flow of oxygen has never been easier. Now the FAA allows the Inogen One onboard commercial aircrafts. View a list of the Arlines that have approved the Inogen One on their Aircrafts.

Check with your airline to make sure they will permit the use of your Inogen One. Some airlines may not permit the use of portable oxygen concentrators like the Inogen One onboard their aircraft.

Arrange for a backup source of oxygen for use at your final destination. Your home healthcare provider will be able to help you coordinate your backup oxygen supply.

Planning Your Flight

You must obtain a signed statement from your physician that includes:

  • Your ability to see/hear alarms and respond appropriately

  • When oxygen use is necessary (all or a portion of the trip)

  • Maximum flow rate corresponding to the pressure in the cabin under normal operating conditions

Travel the Road Less Traveled

Hitting the road is a breeze with the Inogen One.

Inogen's Mobile Power Charger can be plugged into the cigarette lighter or the auxiliary DC power supply in your car. Whenever the Inogen One is plugged in to an external power supply, such as your car, the Inogen One can operate and charge the battery simultaneously.

This means that you have unlimited oxygen on any car trip that you might take - whether its around town or a across the country. You no longer have to worry about running out of oxygen if you get stuck in traffic on the way home from the store or filling the trunk with portable cylinders for a weekend getaway. And since the Inogen One's battery is charging when you are connected to the car's power port, its easy to enjoy time at your destination with charged batteries lasting up to 3 hours each.

The Inogen One enables you to go where you want, when you want.

Travel the Tracks

Ease down the line with your Inogen One.

There are many different ways that you may travel by train, whether using Amtrak, regional commuter rail, or even local rail lines. Rail carriers in countries outside the United States may have different requirements, as well as different standards for electrical outlets. Before you begin your trip, it is important to check with the specific rail carrier to ensure that any specific guidelines are met.

In the United States, Amtrak requires that you follow these guidelines:

  • You must notify Amtrak of your need to bring oxygen aboard and make reservations in advance. Please call 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245). Amtrak requires at least 12 hours notice in advance of your train’s boarding time of your need to bring oxygen aboard.

  • You must have medical necessity to bring oxygen aboard.

  • You oxygen equipment cannot rely solely on train-provided electrical power.

Travel the Sea

Smooth-sailing with your Inogen One.

  • Using your Inogen One on a cruise ship is as convenient as using it at home. In your cabin, simply plug your Inogen One into an AC electrical outlet just as you would at home.

  • Use battery power for ship activities outside your cabin. Be sure and keep enough batteries charged to provide power for the duration of your shipboard activities.

  • Most cruise ships offer AC electrical outlets throughout the ship. To conserve battery power, you may wish to locate an AC electrical outlet in the dining and recreational areas of the ship. If you transport your Inogen One in the convenient carry bag, you can use the pockets on the bag to carry your AC Power Supply or extra battery. The Inogen One Cart enables you to easily transport your Inogen One as you move about the ship.

  • Get to the seaport early. Seaport security personnel may require extra time to inspect your Inogen One during the security screening process.
